Overview
Every Analyze page provides a simple way to produce a default presentation containing the most insightful charts for the selected provider.
In this article we will examine where the content of the default presentation can be found in Marketscape, then we will summarize the content of each section of the default presentation.
To create the default presentation, click at the top right of the Analyze page.
Once the default presentation has been created, you can save it and customize it, adding other charts that you have saved to your chart cart.
In this article we need to differentiate between the initial provider, that is, the provider on the Analyze page where we clicked on Presentation, and the post-acute agencies chosen for comparison in the presentation. We call the initial provider - selected, and the agencies - chosen. (The "chosen" post-acute agencies were added to the report using the Add/Edit interface as shown in the image below.
Where do the Charts come from?
The table below has an image of a default presentation on the left and an overlay image on the right that indicates where each table/chart can be found in Marketscape.
Some charts are built specifically for this presentation and are based on the SNFs you added in the Add/Edit Comparisons interface when you created the presentation. As a result, those tables are unique to the presentation you created and do not exist anywhere else in Marketscape.

Hospitalization and Readmission Rates
This chart shows three different performance metrics for each of your chosen skilled nursing facilities.
Readmissions (blue) - A readmission is a multi event metric where a patient is discharged from inpatient care, is admitted to post-acute care, and is admitted back to any inpatient acute care. The post-acute admission is not necessary for all readmission rates, but since this metric is calculated for a skilled nursing facility, there must be a SNF admission in the middle.
This metric can be found in the Insights tab of the SNF Analyze Page, and on the Explore page for physicians - next two images.
Hospitalization Rate: SOC to 30 Days (red) - This metric is the rate at which patients are admitted to inpatient care within 30 days of being admitted to skilled nursing care. An admission is considered a hospitalization even if the patient was discharged from SNF care prior to the admission. This metric is found on the Analyze page for the chosen SNF in the Quality tab in the Hospitalization Rates within 30 Days from Start of Care by Acuity table.
Hospitalization Rate: SOC to 90 Days (orange) - This metric is the rate at which patients are admitted to inpatient care within 90 days of being admitted to skilled nursing care. An admission is considered a hospitalization even if the patient was discharged from SNF care prior to the admission. This metric is found on the Analyze page for the chosen SNF in the Quality tab in the Hospitalization Rates within 90 Days from Start of Care by Acuity table.
This chart is set up backwards. You will want to compare bars of the same color across the different SNFs listed. There is no value in comparing the different colors of the bars for a single provider as the chart is set up.

Quality Summary
This bubble chart shows three metrics for each chosen SNF in each bubble (circle); Hospitalization is tracked on the X-axis (horizontal), Readmission is tracked on the Y-axis (vertical), and the size of the circle represents the patient volume. Since the goal is to have the lowest possible Hospitalization and Readmission rates, circles closer to the bottom-left are better performers.
When you hover over a circle, the details will appear.
1 - Hospitalization Rate: SOC to 30 Days - This metric is the rate at which patients are admitted to inpatient care within 30 days of being admitted to skilled nursing care. An admission is considered a hospitalization even if the patient was discharged from SNF care prior to the admission. This metric is found on the Analyze page for the chosen SNF in the Quality tab in the Hospitalization Rates within 30 Days from Start of Care by Acuity table.
2 - Readmission Rate - (called Readmit rate in table) -
A readmission is a multi event metric where a patient is discharged from inpatient care, is admitted to post-acute care, and is admitted back to any inpatient acute care. The post-acute admission is not necessary for all readmission rates, but since this metric is calculated for a skilled nursing facility, there must be a SNF admission in the middle.
This metric is rounded to the nearest whole number.
This metric can be found in the Insights tab of the SNF Analyze Page, and on the Explore page for physicians - next two images.
3 - Patient Volume - This is the count of distinct patients treated by the SNF during the most recent one-year reporting period. This metric can be found on the Analyze page for the chosen SNF in the Patient Population tab, in the Patient Volume table.
