Q4 2020 FFS Claims Data Now in Marketscape!
With our latest release, we’ve added 100% Q4 2020 Part A & Part B data, giving you complete FFS claims transparency into the impact on 2020 on your organization, your partners, and your competitors.
Medicare Advantage and Commercial 65+ Payer data
With our latest release, we’ve also added Q4 2020 data from our new data set of Medicare Advantage & Commercial 65+ claims data into Marketscape! What does this mean? When combining our existing FFS data from CMS with this new data set, Marketscape now contains claims data covering a full 90% of U.S. lives over the age of 65 for Q4 2020. Learn about where to access this new data below!
You’ll see a “BETA” tag alongside this new data in the product. By clicking this tag, you can directly provide additional feedback on our new metrics for our team!
New “Medicare Advantage/Commercial” Tab in Analyze:
For every provider Analyze page the “Medicare Advantage” tab is now labeled the “Medicare Advantage/Commercial.” Within this tab, the first table you will now see is the “Medicare Advantage/Commercial (Age 65+) Patient Volume” table. Our new data set, compiled here, includes roughly 75% of all MA and Commercial 65+ claims nationally.
In the “Medicare Advantage/Commercial (Age 65+) Patient Volume” table, you’ll find the following metrics for the given provider:
- Payer Name: Name of the primary payer listed on the claim; from Trella’s MA/Commercial (Age 65+) dataset.
- Annual Patient Count: Count of distinct MA/Commercial (Age 65+) patients treated by the selected provider during the one-year reporting period (ending in 2020Q4) where the payer was listed as the primary payer on the claim.
- Annual Claim Count: Count of MA/Commercial (Age 65+) claims submitted by the selected provider during the one-year reporting period (ending in 2020Q4) where the payer was listed as the primary payer on the claim.
To allow you to see Medicare Advantage trends over time for a given provider’s patient population, we have also retained our most recent CMS data set, which includes 100% of Medicare Advantage claims from 2018 and 2017. This claims data can be found in the second table on the Medicare Advantage/Commercial tab, the “Medicare Advantage Patient Volume” table.
“Medicare Advantage/Commercial” Tab in Explore
You can also find our new Medicare Advantage/Commercial 65+ data set as a column in Explore. Now, in addition to the “Annual Patient Count (MA- 2018" column, which includes our 100% CMS claims data from 2018, you will see a “Annual Patient Count (MA/Commercial 65+)” column. By comparing these two columns, you can quickly see how a provider’s payers for their patient population has changed over time across FFS and private payers.
This new column contains a count of distinct Medicare Advantage/Commercial 65+ patients treated by a given provider in the on-year reporting period (currently ending Q4 2020.) Again, this new column is a compilation of our new data set which represents roughly 75% of all MA/Commercial Claims for the 65+ population.
Our usual suppression rules do not apply to this new MA/Commercial 65+ data set and how these counts are expressed in our tables. Therefore, you may see a number ranging from 0 to 11 in this column, as opposed to the usual “<11” indicator.
Filter Explore Results with Precision Using New Textbox Input for Range Filters
When using the “Range Filters" in Explore, you can now directly input bookending range numbers into the text box directly above each range slider. While clicking and dragging the range filters will still work, this new addition will allow users to precision-filter their search results with less effort!
Add a Note to a Sales Spotlight Email for Quick Insights
Now anyone sending a Sales Spotlight via email can add a short note to the recipient of the Sales Spotlight, indicating why the particular provider is worth evaluating or what metrics to which they should pay attention. Sending the spotlight to yourself? The note, which is included within the spotlight email, is a great opportunity to add a quick ‘note-to-self' on how to approach the provider on your next visit. You can add a note to your Sales Spotlight whether sending from Explore or from Analyze.
Better Understand and Market to Providers with “Top Diagnosis Codes” Columns.
We have added an additional “Top Diagnosis Codes” column to various tables within the “Patient Population” tab of provider Analyze pages. This new column can be found in the following tables:
- The “Patient Diagnostic Mix” table on Physician Analyze pages
- The “Diagnostic Breakout by Stay” table on Facility Analyze pages
- The “Patient Acuity/Diagnostic Mix” table on Home Health and Hospice pages
This new column, located to the right of the “Trella Diagnostic Group” column, provides the top three diagnoses (based on primary ICD-10-CM diagnosis code) for patients treated by the facility that within that Trella Diagnostic group. It is our hope that this new column will provide an extra level of granularity into the patient population of providers, allowing post-acute teams to better market their organization’s relevant specialties to referral sources.
Other Enhancements:
Added Preview for Top 5 Destinations/Sources Tables in Analyze. Previously, if you wanted to understand the top destinations or sources for any provider listed in the “Destinations” tables of the “Destination” tab on Analyze, you had to click through each individual provider to a new Analyze page. With this release, we have added a magnifying glass icon to the left of each provider so that you can easily preview the top 5 destinations and sources for each provider without having to click away to a new Analyze page.
Allow Admins to add/remove from ‘My agency’ list on Explore. Now admins can add and remove NPIs from their ‘My Agency’ list directly within Explore.
